Boat Details

A lovely little starter yacht only needing some cosmetic work but otherwise sound. The Westerly 22 was the first in the famous Westerly line and these are well sought after by enthusiasts. This one has a Yanmar 1GM10 that has been fairly recently refurbished and should give good service.

History as known by current owner:
October 1989 New diesel engine fitted
October 2002 to March 2003 Engine removed and overhauled,
All fuel lines replaced with 8mm copper piping
All gas lines replaced with 8mm copper piping
Ironwork removed and hot dip galvanized, re-fixed with stainless steel nuts and bolts.
Stainless steel rigging visually checked and replaced where necessary

October 2004 to March 2005 Hull cleaned, polished and checked
Timber work sanded, checked, replaced where necessary and re-varnished with marine varnish.

Present day:Boat is in good shape, seaworthy, but in need of some cosmetic repairs.


Sturdy, well built boat of iconic design, one of the first intended for family fun. At home on the open sea also suited to more sedate pursuits. Open plan cabin allows for a surprisingly roomy accommodation for a 22 ft boat, sleeps 4
