Designed by Jeremy Rogers and built in 1978 at the J C Rogers yard in Lymington.

Fulmar of Lorn is one of over 800 Contessa 32's built. Many have sailed worldwide and repeatedly proved themselves to be true blue water yachts with a world class pedigree.

In the capable and caring hands of the present owner for the last 24 years she has been very well looked after and stored ashore every winter under a custom designed cover.

Accommodation:

Forecastle with two tapering bunks, large sail locker, and two large bins below (containing spare ropes, mast ladder - hoists up mainsail luff groove - mainsail cover and fore hatch padded cover, cockpit tent) and wide locker over feet. Heads compartment - Lavac to port (with transparent window in lid, & spare lid on board). Large oilskin and hanging locker to starboard. Teak grating in sole gives access to bilge and log transducer. Original canvas partition from forecastle replaced by plywood door which hinges to close off toilet. Main saloon with single berth to starboard and dinette to port with table lowering to give double berth. 15 gallon stainless fresh water tank with inspection cover under sole and plastic 10 gallon water bag under port seat, with separate pump, or drains into main tank. Lockers under remaining seating, behind seat backs and above, with two open bookshelves. Lockers contain many useful spares for DIY, sundry shackles and bosunry, bosun?s chair, some harnesses. Most lockers have the hull insulated with foam padding. Holder for binoculars. Some seat backs removed or replaced to lengthen bunks - originals available. Quarter berth with access hatch to engine, storage under for 2 batteries (100 and 80 Ah) etc.. Chart table with storage for full size Admiralty charts - two small drawers and storage bin under.


Galley:

Stove with 2-burners, grill and oven, sink, food lockers (one refrigerated) cutlery and plate stowage, ?household? locker with fitting for rubbish bag, saucepan locker.


Sails:

No. 1 genoa (Banks) can be rolled for stowage, but not for reefing as its tack fastens below the furling drum; No. 2 genoa (Banks) No. 3 working (Banks) and No.4 (Sanders) all can be reefed; No. 5 (storm) has hanks, but can be used with a temporary inner forestay to suitable deck fitting. A further large genoa also available.
Profurl jib roller. Through-mast roller reefing (v.quick and neat stow or reefing possible by one person) and luff groove for Banks main. Spinnaker and cruising chute, spinnaker pole and whisker pole.


Instruments:

Remote depth display from Seafarer 5, ST50 wind and ST50 speed,


Electrical System:

12v system with TWC battery management
Two batteries (100 Ah and 75Ah)
Switchboard rewired with circuit breaker switches, current and voltage meters.


Equipment:

10 kg Delta anchor with 60 ft chain and 120 ft nylon rode. CQR anchor (25lb) or 10 lb Bruce available as kedge.

Lazarette gives access to Eberspacher 2.5 kW heater, and cold-start control.

Plastimo 6-man liferaft (within service dates).

Full-width spray hood.

Tiller extension.


Additional Info:

Hull epoxied below the waterline in 1982.

Cockpit locker also has access hatch to engine compartment.

Smart varnished washboards for companion way, plus painted wood ones for winter and perspex windows for use when on board.
Four small fire extinguishers and fire blanket.

Remote closure for starboard cockpit seacock located in engine room so accessible from saloon, port seacock can be reached from cockpit.

Yacht has been stored ashore over winter for the past 24 years and the yard have carried out routine maintenance, winterising etc for almost all of that time.

The boat has never been raced.

Full length winter cover, ridge pole and stand-off bars to protect gunwales from abrasion.
