Spey 35ft Motor Sailer - Details

This is a fine example of the classic 35 ft Spey Motor Sailors built along Scottish Fishing boat lines by The Jones Shipyard of Buckie.

Lovingly and carefully maintained by her present owner, she offers both strength and seaworthy qualities with spacious accommodation.

The original Lister diesel was replaced with an 80hp Ford in 2008.

Built of Larch on Oak frames she is an extremely rugged version of the Spey design.

The large deck saloon offers shelter and comfort, with a large table and the two settees can convert to single berths.

The engine compartment is large and spacious with excellent access to the Ford engine and gearbox.

In 2004 she underwent a thorough refit supervised by Alan Hinks, an experienced Appledore
builder of wooden boats and a Marine Surveyor.

Work done at this time included removal of all deck fittings including stanchions and re galvanising the same.
Replacement of the prop shaft and white metal bearings.
New standing rigging and guard wires.
The hull was Stripped back to bare wood below the waterline and a substantial steel shoe fitted to both the wooden keel and skeg.
