Classic Schooner Pickle - Details

Schooner Pickle was built in 1996 at St.Petersburg Russia.

Ideal for charter work or sailing school. MCA coded.

She is an exceptional Square Topsail Gaff Schooner built as a replica of HMS Pickle of 1805, famed for her role at the Battle of Trafalgar and for bringing the news of Nelson's death and victory at Trafalgar back to England. Even today the Royal Navy celebrate Pickle Night on the 6th November to commemorate the voyage of the Pickle.

Schooner Pickle is a fast, sleek vessel that combines the lines and sailing rig of a period vessel but below deck has traditional yet comfortable accommodation that charter guests would expect. This ship can accommodate 13 people in 4 cabins, ranging from the 4 berth captains cabin aft with its own shower / heads to the two twin cabins amidships and the 5 berth forecabin.

The amidships saloon is the full beam of the ship and is surrounded by wonderful oak cabinets, the table seats 12 people and the permanent seating is nicely upholstered.
The Galley is amply appointed with a range of cooking methods, it also has Oak cupboards as well as Oak worktop and stainless steel sink.

This part of the ship also accommodates another shower and head facility with a beautiful copper sink.

She is of Carvel construction with a Long Keel. She has 3inch Larch Planking with Bronze Screw Fastenings and Laminated Frames (Oak & Larch). There are 2 x Watertight Bulkheads.
The Deck is Douglas Fir, Bronze Screw Fastened.

Ballast is internal consisting of boxed Iron Ingots

The air draft is 65ft.
