Groves and Gutteridge 47 foot Classic Motor Yacht - Details

Built in 1945 at the famous Groves and Gutteridge Yard in Cowes as an Admiralty Pinnace, she has been converted into a beautiful family motor yacht.
Never commissioned into the Navy, she was sold into private hands. For long distance cruising she was fitted with an auxiliary wing engine in 1959.
Having fallen into disrepair, she was acquired as an empty shell by the current owner in September 2004.

Over two and one half years she was carefully restored and converted to the highest standards. She makes a very comfortable live-aboard with all mod cons and excellent range for long distance cruising. 6ft 3in headroom in the wheelhouse and up to 6ft 6in in he saloon! swiss replica watches

Seaworthy and easily driven, cruising with a fuel consumption of nine litres per hour at seven and a half knots. Her main engine is a Ford D6 120 hp diesel. She is also fitted with a Ford D4 80 hp auxiliary wing engine.

The Hull is constructed from 1 1/4 inch pitch pine on rock elm and oak, copper roved to Admiralty specification. Top sides have been glue splined and below water recaulked and sealed.
The Deck is completely new in 1 1/4 inch laminated ply with new laminated oak or mahogany deck beams. The deck and lower superstructure has been sheathed in 3 1/2 ounce fiberglass.
The Wheelhouse is 1 1/4 mahogany planks on 3/4 ply with 4in x 2in mahogany framework and varnished with 2 pack epoxy.

She has a 5in x 4in cast iron keel for 3/4 length and 3 1/2 tons of lead internal ballast.
The main and mizzen masts are constructed from yellow pine.
